As a SET member I have followed Skanska ID with interest and enthusiasm and watched the business develop. Now that circumstances have drawn me closer to the company, I am even more pleased with and proud of what has been achieved.

After another year of performance and growth, Skanska ID is very well positioned to meet the challenges of 2008. Our pipeline is good, and our bidding activities around the world show opportunities for success in our chosen market sectors, even though we face challenging conditions and very tough competition. To increase our competitiveness, we have started to share the knowledge and experience of our key specialists between our different regions. This will also provide interesting development opportunities for our employees.

Looking ahead, Skanska ID will continue to be a very important part of Skanska, and we will seek to identify the best possible ways of building on our past success. To achieve this, a review of our strategic options is currently underway. When this is concluded,

we will set a clear direction and take the business forward together with the new Business Unit President.

In the mean time, The Nordic and CEE teams have merged to improve their responsiveness to the challenges in their markets. The region will operate under acting EVP Roman Matkiwsky. Magnus Andersson is on paternity leave until May.

In addition to these changes of leadership and structure, we will continue to develop our mindset, renewing our open and transparent culture, using our combined resources and knowhow effectively, and being open to feedback as part of a team. This will address the areas we have to develop as identified by our recent employee survey.

Our business may differ from traditional construction, but we are all part of the Skanska family. Our culture should

reflect this and we should always consider which activities add value to Skanska and which do not. Working closely together with our colleagues in the construction BU’s we are a formidable player in our markets.

Our integration with the rest of the group will also be strengthened by Skanska’s updated graphic identity, currently being rolled out across the business. Designed to present all Skanska’s business units as being part of the same company, this update will mean some changes in how we use the Skanska identity in Skanska ID, as is explained on the communications page.

Finally, I would like to congratulate you all on a fine performance last year, and to wish you and your families a prosperous and happy 2008.
